Establishing a Trust Fund
In 1994, Mary became the first trustee to set up a personal trust fund
with the Metropolitan Separate School Board (now - Toronto Catholic District School Board). At the end of each school
year, a monetary award of $100 is given to one grade 8 student attending St. Augustine, St Francis de Sales, Our Lady
of the Assumption, St. Charles Garnier, Blessed Margherita, St. Jerome, St. Conrad and St. Wilfrid Catholic
schools. The school principal from each of the schools will be responsible for selecting the student who has shown the
most improvement. Mary's goal is to eventually establish a trust fund in every school in her ward.
