Environmental Task Force during the years 1998-2000, Mary was instrumental in the creation of the City's first environmental
report, "Environmental Plan, Clean, Green and Healthy, A Plan for an Environmentally
Sustainable Toronto".

Mary Cicogna's Commitments:
Maintaining and improving programs in our schools.
Increased funding for Special Education.
Making sure our school buildings are clean and safe for our children.
A good working relationship with our parents, teachers, principals, custodians and other staff members in order to establish
a friendly environment in our local schools.
Fighting for the needs of our schools at the Board level and with the Provincial Government.
Working with school community groups such as Catholic School Advisory Committees, Seniors Groups and with individuals
seeking advice and support.

A Job Well Done!
On May 21, 1999, Mary Cicogna was the recipient of a prestigious award
given by the Centro Canadese Scuola e Cultura Italiana. This award was bestowed on Mary for her dedication and the immense
effort she displayed in the fight to maintain the International Languages program in Catholic schools across Toronto.
The award was given by the late Al Palladini, MP.
